Speaking in a joint meeting of Iranian and Syrian industrialists in Damascus, Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi added the two countries are determined to develop their relations in different fields.
In a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Raeisi said, “we explored all avenues to expand our economic and trade ties and remove the obstacles”.
The two neighbors signed 15 cooperation documents, opening a new chapter in their economic, scientific, and technological sectors, he mentioned.
The documents were related to several sectors, namely trade, oil and energy, technical and engineering, housing, rail and air transportation, free trade zones and private sector, communications and information technology, earthquake and rescue operations, and pilgrimage affairs.
Heading a high-ranking delegation, including several ministers, Raeisi wrapped up a two-day landmark trip, the first state visit by an Iranian president to Syria in 13 years, returning home on Friday.
