CEO: Arya Sasol Polymer Company developing export marketing plan

SHANA (Tehran) – Iran’s Arya Sasol Polymer Company has moved toward developing its export marketing plan, said the ASPC managing director on Sunday.

Mohammad-Reza Heidarzadeh, who made the remark in an interview with SHANA and Iran Petroleum, added, “In addition to exports to neighboring countries, we have focused on markets in Europe, China, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Africa, and even Latin America.”

He said the company has attracted good customers in Europe, continuing, “We have now regular customers in Europe, seeking to boost our exports to the European markets this year.”

Arya Sasol Polymer Company’s direct exports over the past year stood at 15 percent, mentioned Heidarzadeh, adding the company has made plans to increase its direct sales to 25 percent this year.

Exports growing despite sanctions

Sanctions are certainly a deterrent to exports, said the ASPC chief, however adding the company’s products are too strategic to be ignored by the world. That is why other countries are eager to import them.

The products of Arya Sasol Polymer Company not only have been patented by European licensors, but also have been awarded by international certificates, including the EU’s REACH Certificate of Compliance, boasted Heidarzadeh, assuring that the company faces no problem in exporting its products to markets beyond Asia, particularly the European markets.

According to him, the company exported over 6,000 tons of its products to Europe in the fourth quarter of Iranian calendar year starting December 22, 2022.

Turkish market

Arya Sasol got into the Turkish market in early October 2022, exporting a wide range of its products by the end of Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2023), stated the managing director.

Iran was the second-largest polymer supplier to Turkey before 2013, he recalled and added Iran’s position had been lowered to second when Arya Sasol found its way into the Turkish market.

During the five-month period, Arya Sasol planning to regain Iran’s status in the Turkish market managed to promote the country’s ranking to the fourth position, Heidarzadeh said.

The CEO stated his company plans to increase its exports to Turkey by 15 percent this year.

Annual output

Asked about Arya Sasol Polymer Company’s output during the year to March 20, 2023, he said ASPC produced 92,000 tons of C3+, 351,000 tons of medium- and high-density polyethylene (MD/HDPE), 369,000 tons of low-density polyethylene (LDPE), 972,000 tons of ethylene during the yearlong period.

Heidarzadeh said the company seeks to boost its annual output by 175,000 tons and produce 1.959 million tons this year.
