Sohrab oil field development project operations start

SHANA (Ahvaz) – The executive operations of Sohrab oil field development project officially kicked off during the visit of Iran’s President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi to southwestern province of Khuzestan on Friday.

Representing the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) is managing the project and the Dana Energy Company is in charge of developing the field shared with Iraq.

NIOC signed a contract with Dana Energy Company under news terms and conditions, targeting cumulative production of 160 million barrels of crude oil.

Based on estimates, the first stage of development operations is expected to help extract 30,000 barrels per day (bpd) from Sohrab oil field.

In line with the forecast, the cumulative production will reach the target during the 20 years of the contract.
