Making the remark in an interview with Shana, Fada-Hossein Maleki pointed to Iran-Saudi rapprochement and added the restoration of relations between the two sides will help improve each other’s economy and is the basis for promoting their diplomatic and international cooperation.

The lawmaker blamed mischievous acts of some Western countries for years-long severance of ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia, assuring that the resumption of diplomatic ties between Tehran and Riyadh will lead to positive developments in the region.

He said the détente will help boost economic and cultural relations and forge bonds between nations.

Also, Parvin Salehi Mobarakeh, another member of Iran’s Parliament, expressed hope that tensions will ease and the West Asian nations will witness development in the near future through the improvement of relations between the Middle Eastern countries including Iran and Saudi Arabia.
