Speaking to Shana, Ali Ahmadi said: “SPGC is one of the largest producers of gas and by-products in Iran and the Middle East, and the gas production of this complex from 13 refineries is now more than 570 million cubic meters per day.”
He stated that with the efforts of the employees of this gas complex, “we were able to increase production by 2.6% in the 9 months of this year compared to the same period last year,” adding: “This processed gas is injected into the national trunkline for commercial, domestic and major industrial consumption.”
SPGC is also the supplier of feedstock to several petrochemical plants including Bushehr, Pars and Kangan petrochemical and petro-refinery plants.
The SPGC official further said that this complex, which is home to 13 refineries, is also the largest producer of gas condensate in the Middle East and more than 700,000 barrels of gas condensate are produced on a daily basis.
“In the first 9 months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21, more than 186 million barrels of gas condensate have been produced in the South Pars Gas Complex, which has increased significantly compared to last year, and Persian Gulf Star Oil Refining Company, Borzuyeh Petrochemical Plant and destinations located in the center of Iran benefit from the condensate produced at SPGC.”
Emphasizing that there was no restriction on the export and shipment of these products, Ahmadi added: “Another strategic product of the South Pars Gas Complex Company is ethane, and the daily production capacity of this product is 15,500 tons.”
South Pars Gas Complex is the largest producer of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Iran and one of the largest producers of this item in the Middle East, which has the daily production capacity of more than 22,000 tons. This item is exported by tankers and by land or sea to East Asian destinations. In the first 9 months of this calendar year, LGP output of SPGC has increased by 25% compared to the same period last year.
