According to IRNA, Hossein Amirabdollahian told a meeting with a group of Lebanese political, cultural, media, academic and social elites and figures on Friday evening: “Iran will remain a friend of Lebanon during difficult times.”

He added: “We know that Lebanon is suffering from economic problems and a lack of fuel and energy. We are ready to cooperate with Lebanon in economic, commercial, and energy fields.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs underlined relations between Iran and Lebanon: “We hope that the political process in Lebanon will be completed with the election of a president and the formation of a new government, and the basis for the strengthening of relations and the visit of the Iranian president to Lebanon.
