Mr. Owji left Tehran on Sunday morning to visit the holy city of Mashhad in order to address concerns about the possible pressure drop in the five northern provinces of North Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, South Khorasan, Golestan, and Mazandaran.
This year, due to the arrival of an unprecedented cold snap in the last 10 years and the persistence of the cold during the days and this week, followed by a record increase in gas consumption across the country.
This is worsened by the complete interruption of the gas swap from Turkmenistan due to technical reasons. All this has caused concerns for the stability of the gas supply in various parts of the country.
Investigating the possible problems and challenges of the northeast network will be one of the main goals of Mr. Owji’s visit.
Despite the cold weather and temperature drop in most of the country's provinces, which is a rare occurrence, with the changes and careful monitoring of the gas supply network, the network is in complete stability, however, in order to eliminate the concern about the pressure drop in North Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, South Khorasan, Golestan and Mazandaran provinces, the petroleum minister and the oil industry workers have done their best.
