Power Plant Gas Delivery up 26% in Gilan

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of Gilan Province Gas Company announced a 26% increase in gas delivered to the power plants of the northern province in Aban (October-November) this year compared to the same period last calendar year.

According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Issa Jamal Nikoui said: "Gilan gas consumption increased by 5% to 656 million cubic meters (mcm) in the month of Aban (October-November) this year, which is due to the rise in the volume of gas delivered to the province's power plants."

He added: “The province's power plants have consumed 252 mcm this month, which has increased by 26% compared to the same period last year.”

The CEO of Gilan Province Gas Company, referring to gas consumption in the domestic sector, said despite attracting about 40,000 new subscribers in the calendar year of 1400 (which ended on March 20), gas consumption in the domestic sector decreased by 6% compared to the same period last year and reached 272 mcm, which shows the optimal consumption management by natural gas subscribers in Gilan.

Jamal Nikoui considered consumption management by household gas customers to be very valuable, and stated saving and consumption management by household gas customers caused a larger volume of gas entering the province to be delivered to the power generation sector.
