Tehran, Ashgabat sign 9 MoUs, Statements

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Nine cooperation documents and a joint statement were signed between Iran and Turkmenistan in the presence of the presidents of the two neighbors.

According to President.ir, a memorandum of understanding on trade-economic, scientific-technical-cultural cooperation between Golestan Province, northern Iran, and Balkan Province of Turkmenistan was signed on Wednesday.

A Memorandum of Understanding on trade-economic, scientific-technical-cultural cooperation between Khorasan Razavi Province and Merv Province of Turkmenistan, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and the State Committee of Radio and Television of Turkmenistan, a scientific, cultural, artistic and educational exchange program between the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran the Government of Turkmenistan, a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a joint investment working group, a comprehensive memorandum of understanding on the development of transport and transit cooperation, and a memorandum of understanding on environmental protection were signed by the relevant ministers, governors and officials of the two countries.

Seyed Ebrahim Raisi officially welcomed the President of the Republic of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhamedov, this morning (Wednesday, June 15) at the Saadabad Historical and Cultural Complex.

In this ceremony, after the national anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkmenistan was played, the leaders of the two countries visited the ceremonial unit and then introduced the accompanying high-level delegations to each other.

Meetings and talks with the President, holding a joint meeting of high-level delegations of the two countries and signing several documents of cooperation and memoranda will be among Serdar Berdymukhamedov’s plans in Tehran today.

This is Berdymukhamedov’s first visit to Tehran since assuming the presidency of Turkmenistan.
