Mousa Ahmadi, speaking on Tuesday during a ceremony at Parliament to sign a pilot agreement for transferring gasoline quotas from fuel cards to vehicle owners' bank accounts, said: "The Seventh Development Plan law is a covenant between Parliament and the government, under which the 1404 budget law has been drafted and approved. Accordingly, we will implement all provisions of the Seventh Plan and the budget law related to oil and energy sectors, which fall under the Energy Committee's purview."
He added: "The transfer of gasoline quotas from smart fuel cards to vehicle owners' bank accounts is included in the 1404 budget law. The Oil Ministry is required, within four months, to collaborate with the Central Bank to enable the transfer of fuel quotas from fuel cards to bank cards. This is being done for the first time and requires thorough studies."
Regarding the implementation of the smart fuel system since 2007 in the country, the head of the Parliament Energy Commission said: "The initiative being launched and realized in the future is a very positive step and will undoubtedly lead to public satisfaction while bringing transparency to gasoline rationing."
The agreement to transfer gasoline quotas to bank accounts was signed yesterday at Parliament with the attendance of Mousa Ahmadi, head of the Parliament Energy Committee; Mohammad-Sadeq Azimifar, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company; and Mohsen Hormozi, deputy mayor of Tehran for transportation.
