NIDC Drills 46 Oil, Gas Wells in 8 Months

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The Deputy CEO of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) announced the drilling and completion of 46 oil and gas wells in the onshore and offshore oil-rich regions of the country in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21.

According to the National Iranian Drilling Company, Massoud Afshar stated: "Out of the total number of wells completed during this period, there were four production wells, four appraisal wells and 38 workovers."
33 of these wells were in the operational scope of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), 6 in the regions operated by the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), one in the regions operated by the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, one was ordered by the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), three wells were projects by other NIDC clients and two were ordered by the exploration department of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), he said.
The Deputy Managing Director of the National Iranian Drilling Company stated that 51,046 meters of wells were drilled from March 20 to November 20, adding: "Currently, 9 heavy-duty onshore drilling rigs of the company's fleet are being moved to operational areas."
