Massoud Kazemi said on Friday: “The average temperature in October this year is about 5 degrees lower than previous years and it has been unprecedented in terms of cold weather and consumption over the past 50 years.”
He added: "According to the announcement of the Meteorological Organization regarding a temperature drop in the coming days, gas consumption in the domestic sector is expected to increase by 50 million cubic meters to 535 million cubic meters per day next week, which is a very high figure."
The NIGC’s Dispatching Deputy continued: “The average gas consumption of domestic, commercial and non-major sectors in recent days has reached 490 million cubic meters, which is an increase of about 140 million cubic meters compared to last year. The amount of domestic gas consumption in the same period last year was 350 million cubic meters per day.”
Kazemi announced the amount of gas consumption in the power plant sector as 135 million cubic meters per day and the industrial sector at about 120 million cubic meters per day, and said:the highest amount of gas consumption in the country is related to the domestic sector.
