Tabriz, East Azarbaijan Prov, - Energy consumption in Iran is three times that of the developed states, causing a financial burden of $6 billion, said an official here on Sunday.
Energy Productivity Organization's representative to northwest of Iran Salman Ghazanfari told IRNA on the sidelines of the Seminar on Technology for Optimal Consumption of Energy that energy consumption in Iran follows an improper pattern and that prolongation of this trend would put national economy in a critical condition.
He said that based on a research, energy consumption can be cut down in plants by 10 to 15 percent through training and information.
