90% of Iran Gas Stations Active

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) said that more than 90% of the gas stations across the country have been activated, adding over 70% of the stations are expected to be linked to the smart fuel system by Friday.

Jalil Salari said Thursday that with the experience of the fuel supply fleet, fortunately “we were able to quickly activate the supply stations and use the operational capacity of the National Petroleum Products Distribution Company."

He added: "Currently, 450 operational groups have been formed and activated to deal with the problem with smart fuel system throughout the country."

The Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Refining and Distribution stated: "Fortunately, we have favorable conditions and more than 3,700 fuel supply stations have been activated throughout the country and refueling is underway at these stations. Also, about 800 fuel supply stations have been connected to the smart fuel system so far, and people have been able to receive quota fuel at these stations.”

Salari emphasized: "Fortunately, more than 90% of the stations have been activated all over the country, and with the conditions provided, we hope to be able to connect more than 70% of the stations to the smart fuel system by Friday."

He added: "Our effort is to ensure the supply of gasoil through the fuel card as soon as possible."

Regarding the status of fuel reserves in the country, Salari said: "Fortunately, the status of reserves in all stations and oil depots is favorable and there are no challenges or shortages in this regard."
