MOP Seeking Permits to Develop Changouleh Oilfield

TEHRAN (Shana) – Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji said: "The Ministry of Petroleum, with detailed expert reviews, will put the approval for the development of Changouleh Oil Field and defending the development of this joint field on its agenda.”

Javad Owji told in a public meeting held in Mehran governorate, Ilam Province, on Friday that significant oil and gas reserves are in Ilam Province, adding: "3% of the country's oil reserves are located in Ilam province and currently amount to 210,000 barrels of oil per day and about 3.5 to 4 million cubic meters of gas output. It is hoped that with the development of oil fields, the daily production of crude oil in the province will increase by about 110,000 barrels and reach more than 300,000 barrels per day.”

The Minister of Petroleum also expressed hope that with the development of the Tang-e-Bijar Gas Field, the province's daily gas production will increase by 4 million cubic meters.

Maximum Development and Production of Joint Fields

He further promised to determine the fate of joint oil and gas fields under the 13th administration. “By the end of this administration, we should not have an unexplored or undeveloped oil or gas field.”

Regarding the development of Changouleh Field, he said the field also has a good capacity and its exploitation should be on the agenda, adding: "This field is also joint and our priority is the development of joint fields.”
