Drilling Operations begin to Maintain Forouzan Oil Output

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Drilling operations have begun in the Forouzan oilfield to maintain and enhance oil output of the joint field.

The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), Petropars Group and Mobinasazeh Gostar signed a deal for maintaining and enhancing production of the field in August last year between, which has entered the drilling stage according to the Iranian Offshore Oil Company.

Accordingly, the Well Target 1 rig will drill seven wells at the F18 satellite platform in the FX area of the offshore field.

In the plan to maintain and enhance the production of the field, a total of 26 wells will be drilled, of which 13 well will be newly spudded.

The Forouzan joint field is located 100 km from Bushehr, southern Iran, and on the water frontiers of Iran and Saudi Arabia in the Persian Gulf.
