Seyed Alireza Tabatabai-Nejad, speaking on the sidelines of the 25th Iran Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, told Shana: "This amount is our minimum forecast in the field and we hope to increase the recovery rate of Soroush Field to more than these figures."
He stated that Soroush Field technological development studies project will enter the pilot phase in the next year.
"Studies and experiments are continuing, but most likely, polymer injection will be the final and selected option for increasing oil recovery from the oil field," he added.
The professor said that in order to advance the technological development plan of Soroush Field, numerous and continuous meetings will be held online between Sahand University, the university's foreign partner and the Iranian Offshore Oil Company, and appreciated the company's good support and cooperation.
The Iranian Ministry of Petroleum has signed 39 major research contracts with 18 universities and research centers in the past eight years and has used the existing scientific capacities in the country to develop the oil industry.
This interactive approach of the Ministry of Petroleum started in 2014 with signing of 9 contracts for the technological development of oil fields with 9 universities and research centers, and continued with the signing of 12 contracts for the establishment of downstream research institutes with 9 universities in 2016.
