Iran Petroleum Minister meets with Russian Deputy Prime Minister

MOSCOW (Shana) – Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Russia in Moscow.

According to IRNA, Bijan Zangeneh's meeting with Alexander Novak and Nikolai Shulginov was focused on the cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy and the prospects of world markets.

Upon arrival in Moscow on Sunday evening (December 20), the Iranian Minister of Petroleum called the global oil market the most important focus of talks with Russian officials, and said: "We will have meetings with Russian government officials and executives of oil companies during this trip, but our most important discussion is to review the latest developments in the global oil market which is in a critical situation.”

He also said that Russia has been playing a very constructive and effective role in OPEC+ for several years, along with members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and other allies.
