IOOC Saves Rls. 300b by Reducing Time of Moving Persian Gulf Drilling Rig

TEHRAN (Shana) -- A 65% reduction in the time of moving the Persian Gulf drilling rig (slant) in the Abuzar oil field located in the Persian Gulf waters compared to the average of previous delivery operations, resulted in saving of more than 300 billion Iranian rials.

According to Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), Shahab Bastami, Head of Drilling Operations Supervision at IOOC, said the slant operation began August 30 and completed on October 17, that is, 50 days.

He added: "The average duration for moving the Persian Gulf drilling rig in the last five times was 141 days, which has been reduced by 65% ​​with the efforts made, and this means saving more than 30 billion Tomans."

Every Toman is 10 Iranian rials.  

The Persian Gulf drilling rig is of the PLATFORM RIG type, which is designed only for working on special offshore platforms with diagonal wells (SLANT).

In general, this device consists of two parts: the drilling rig (and its components) and the residential camp (including four floors).
