Iran Gas Transmission Capacity at 870 mcm/d

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The CEO of the Iranian Gas Transmission Company announced a 12% increase in the amount of sweet gas transmission in the first five months of the current calendar year, which began on March 21, adding Iran’s daily capacity of gas transmission has reached 870 million cubic meters.

According to Mehdi Jamshidi-Dana in a press conference on Wednesday, "Currently, there are 37,400 kilometers of high pressure transmission lines in the country and in terms of global ranking, we have the fourth place in this sector in the world which is unique in the Middle East.”

He said that the length of high pressure gas transmission lines in Iran 3 times the diameter of the earth which is unique in different climates of the country, adding: "In total, these lines have 86 pressure boosting stations and each have about three, four or five turbo-compressors, for a total of 316 turbo-compressors.”
