Urea Unit of Lordegan Petrochemical Plant Online

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The third phase of Lordegan Petrochemical Plant, as the largest producer of urea in western Iran, has come on stream with a daily production capacity of 3,250 tons by relying on domestic capabilities.

According to Iranian Investment Group (Petrol), Mohsen Mahmoudi, CEO of Lordegan Urea Petrochemical Plant, said: "With the efforts of the management and staff of this complex, the urea unit of the third phase of the complex has become operational, bringing the total production capacity of the largest urea producer in western Iran to 1.073 million tons per year."

The plant has been designed in three phases; the first phase includes utility units and ancillary units - which produce all the needs of urea and ammonia units, and was launched in September 2009. The second unit is the ammonia unit with become productive in April with 80% completion, he added.

The CEO of Urea Unit of Lordegan Petrochemical Plant said the project was launched solely by relying on local forces and experts and creates 700 direct and over 2,000 indirect jobs.
