Propane output of South Pars Phase 19 to see 240% Growth by 2021

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The head of operation of 10th South Pars refinery announced a 240% increase in propane production in phase 19 of the South Pars gas complex by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 20, 2021.

According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Mohammad Nemati stated that procedural changes, commissioning and completion of different units of phase 19 had caused a significant increase in plant’s yield, adding production of butane and propane had increased by 350 and 70 tons per day by July which was made possible by launching turbo-expanders in the refinery.

He said the in the second phase of commissioning the turbo-expanders and bringing online the third and fourth gas processing trains of the refinery which will come on stream in fall, 1,700 tons of propane output will be added to the refinery’s productivity.

Moreover, butane production will also increase by 1,000 tons per day, he said.
