Iran Daily Gas Output beyond 700 mcm: NIGC

TEHRAN (Shana) -- A spokesman for the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said that currently the average daily production of natural gas in the country's refineries was 703 million cubic meters.

Mohammad Asgari told Shana: "The average daily production of natural gas in the country's refineries is currently 703 million cubic meters, which has increased by 69 million cubic meters compared to the same period last year."

According to him, the average daily production of natural gas in the same period last year was 634 mcm.

The NIGC spokesman stressed: "Overhauls in gas refineries and the coronavirus outbreak have not disrupted the increase in natural gas production, and this growing trend continues."

The average daily production of natural gas in Iran’s refineries in the month of Khordad (3rd month in the Iranian calendar year – May 21 to June 20) had reached 674 mcm.

Masoud Zarduvian, Director of Coordination and Production Supervision at NIGC, recently told Shana about the increase in gas receiving and refining capacity in gas refineries across the country, and said: “Gas processing capacity in the country's refineries has reached about 1.03 bcm per day and gas production in the first quarter of this calendar year has jumped 2.2 percent.”
