According to the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), Gholamreza Mofidi, the CEO of the company, said that the MOT was one of the greatest measures taken by the company in order to prevent burning of crude oil and living up to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards in operations.

He further said that localization of manufacturing the tip of gas flares in the company had also helped reduce their pollution while burning associated gases.

The official also said that a project was being carried out in the region which had so far gathered 90 percent of associated gases and prevented their burning.

The gathered gas is consumed as feedstock by petrochemical plants. Furthermore, the remaining 10 percent gas would be gathered under a contract by with petrochemical companies in a matter of three years with a billion dollars of investment.
