Safety Measures Implemented on Omidiyeh Pipelines

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Measures are being implemented to ensure the safety of Omidiyeh pipelines in southwest Iran, an oil official said.

According to the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), Ahmad Mohammadi, NISOC CEO, announced the oil that was leaked from one of the pipelines to the city would be gathered in ponds in a safe area and so far no safety problems have been the case.

On Monday a pipeline to the city leaked after an accident and caught fire which did not leave any casualties.

Mohammadi further said that plans were under way to replace the damaged pipes to resume the pipeline’s operation.
