Iran Could Sell Oil without US Waivers: Rouhani

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the country could continue selling oil even if the US did not grant sanctions waivers for 8 countries.

Speaking on Monday, the official said, “That today the United States is compelled to issue waivers to eight countries from Iranian oil sanctions, while having previously stated explicitly to bring Iran’s oil exports to zero, should not be viewed as a victory for Iran?

The President emphasized that even if the waivers were not granted to the eight countries, “we would still sell our oil.”

Mr. Rouhani added: “I have told all the world leaders in the UN that this time we [Iran] will break US embargoes as they are cruel and against the UN regulations, pacts and resolutions.”
