Iran Selling Oil to New Customers: Veep

TEHRAN (Shana) -- First Vice President Eshaq Jahanigiri said Iran had found new customers for its oil, while talks were being held with traditional buyers for finding new ways to sell them oil.

Addressing a conference on Sunday, the official touched on the US sanctions on Tehran, saying although some buyers of Iranian oil had stopped purchasing the item from Iran, “we have been able to find new customers for our oil.”

"On the other hand, we have also negotiated with traditional customers to find solutions for cooperation," he said. “It's not strange for countries that are being sanctioned to look for ways to circumvent sanctions.”

He said Washington was startled at the growing price of oil because they thought the Saudis could offset potential shortages in the market caused by eliminating Iran’s oil.

"Americans, despite claiming that they want to bring Iran's oil exports to zero, cannot do it, because there are several ways to counter this claim, and the private and domestic companies have come to the fore," he continued.

“We have received oil money in different ways, and exports are increasing, and people tend to become more oriented to domestic goods,” he added.
