Sulfur Granulation Unit Launched at Bandar Abbas Refinery

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery has launched a sulfur granulation unit with 250 tons/day of production capacity.

According to the plant's public relations, Hashem Namvar, the CEO of the refinery, said the unit is aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of sulfur in air and reducing emission of pollutants.

He said the sulfur will be produced either in generic and packed forms. Previously, the plant supplied sulfur lumps which caused so much environmental damage in the region.

Currently, the refinery supplies 130 tons per day of sulfur which will be increased by 120 tons/day once the facility launches its new sulfur recovery unit.
