US Claim to Block Iran Oil Exports, Uncalculated: Veep

TEHRAN (Shana) -- First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri said halting Iran's oil exports by the US is a "baseless and uncalculated claim", saying: "Our efforts and planning must be tuned against US measures."

Speaking during a visit to the central city of Isfahan, the official said, "We ought to produce the crude oil we require domestically and export our surplus output."

He said the US Treasury has become the command center of the economic war against Iran, saying: "The chief target sought by the US is inflicting the greatest damage to Iran's economy and make life difficult for the Iranian nation and expand public dissatisfaction so that the Americans will be able to pursue their agenda in Iran."

"We, as officials, must work out the best methods against US measures," Mr. Jahangiri said.
