Speaking to Shana, the official said the company is currently pursuing an agenda to create brands in fuel distribution services and is planning to entrust the private sector several of its activities regarding distribution of petroleum products.
He said the company will retain its authority after privatization, anyway.
For the time being, export of petroleum products is being done in the Iran Stock Exchange by the private sector.
The privatization scheme is aimed at empowerment of domestic private contractors, promoting the quality of distribution services to the end-users and supporting the private sector and creating a competitive arena for the companies involved in the sector, Riyahi added.
