Petroleum Minister Meets with Lebanese Industry Minister

TEHRAN, Aug 31(Shana) – Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh met with visiting Lebanese Minister of Industry Hossein al-Hajj Hassan on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Zangeneh and al-Hajj Hassan explored ways of development of bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Beirut.

A delegation of 70 Lebanese businessmen and officials, headed by Minister of Industry Hossein al-Hajj Hassan, arrived in Tehran on Sunday.

Hassan said before departing Beirut that as the sanctions have been lifted, situations are riper than ever for expanding ties with Iran.

The Lebanese delegation is the latest in a series of business teams to have visited Iran in 2016 when the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and six world powers was still on the anvil.

The JCPOA was implemented in January with the removal of a set of sanctions imposed by the US, the EU and UN Security Council.
