The report said the NISOC devised a plan in 2014 to indigenize thousands of critical oil parts and items including turbines, compressors and pumps.
Furthermore, the scheme gained much impetus after Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh decreed NISOC to consider manufacture of key oil industry items and parts for hastening self-sufficiency in the sector.
Besides these 8,000 items, construction of 4,000 other items is also being considered by NISOC, the report said.
NIOSC is currently operating 45 oil and gas fields and accounts for over 80% of the country's total crude oil production.
