TEHRAN, Aug 28 (Shana) – Head of the Department of Environment Masoomeh Ebtekar says Iran and France will cooperate in optimal energy consumption, water source management and campaign against dust and its harmful effects.

Speaking after a meeting his French Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, Ségolène Royal, on Sunday, Ebtekar said she and the French counterpart had discussed multilateral cooperation and a deal signed during Iranian president Hassan Rouhani's France visit.

She said Iran and France had agreed to compile a plan of action for optimal energy consumption, water source management and dust campaign within framework of the Paris agreement.

She referred to the International Environment Protection Exhibition which will be held in March and said talks had been held to that effect and the private and state-run companies active in the field of environment in France will be present in the exhibition.

She added that French Minister of Environment had been accompanied in his Iran visit by a number of private companies and talks were held with them on water and energy cooperation.

She noted that she was happy with presence of Royal in Iran and said she believed presence of the French minister in Iran showed French government determination for cooperation with Iran in environment protection, carrying a strong message to the world that countries can have serious cooperation with each other in line with mutual interest for environment protection.
