Six Months' Time for Pertamina to Study Iran Oilfelds: Official

TEHRAN, Aug 08(Shana) – Indonesian state-owned oil and natural gas corporation Pertamina will have six months time to study Abteimour and Mansouri fields and enter the tender for their development, Gholamreza Manouchehri, the deputy head of the National Iranian Oil Company said on Monday.

Speaking to reporters after inking a cooperation document between National Iranian Oil Company and Pertamina, he said that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Pertamina and NIOC can include more oil fields in the future.

Referring to cultural and religious ties between Iranian and Indonesian people, Manouchehri said that ground is ready for enhancement of cooperation between the two countries' governmental and private sector.

The official said that NIOC is studying cooperation with Indonesia for joint construction of refineries.

Indonesia is interested to increase crude oil, Liquefied Petroleum Gas import from Iran, he added.

National Iranian Oil Company and Indonesian state-owned oil and natural gas corporation Pertamina signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday for the latter to carry out studies over two Iranian oil fields.

Ali Kardor, managing director of NIOC, and President of Pertamina Dwi Soetjipto signed the MoU in Tehran.

The deal is aimed at studying the fields of Abteimour and Mansouri for future development.

During the ceremony, Kardor underlined the significance of knowledge transfer to Iran by signature of the MoU, adding this will be the first direct cooperation of NIOC and Pertamina.
