Shabanpour told TV on Sunday that by Saturday night platform for phase 21 was to be installed but due to safety exigencies and wind, the project was postponed.
He said the platform will be installed when it is deemed appropriate.
Once the platform is operational, up to one billion cubic feet of gas equal to 28.3 million cubic feet of gas a day will be extracted from South Pars gas field, according to the official.
The SP phases 19, 20 and 21 as well as remaining parts of phases 17 and 18 will be operational by March 20 and gas recovery from South Pars joint field will hence rise to 540 million cubic meters a day.
