The IOPTC said fire had broken out in farmlands in the neighborhood and firefighters were quick to put the flames off, preventing it to spread beyond the metal wall of the area the pipeline is located.

It said the smoke covering the area was due to burning of farmlands in vicinity of the pipeline.
