The event, crowded by nearly 2,000 oil and energy companies from 38 countries, the fair will run until May 8 2016.

The unprecedented reception of the fair comes as US-led sanctions on the Tehran’s nuclear program sewn up in January 2016. 

Iran is seeking to position itself as the safest regional country and have offered luring incentives for foreign investors to bankroll its oil and gas projects.
