South Pars Refinery Processes 8.5mb of Gas Condensate in 10 Months

TEHRAN, Feb. 29 (Shana) -- The first refinery of South Pars Complex treated 8.54 million barrels of extra light crude oil (gas condensate) over the course of the past 10 months, the refinery's chief said.

Mohammad Mahdi Hashemi said the refinery has also processes over 7 bcm of natural gas during the same period. 

The refinery's average processing performance stood at 28 mcm/day of gas, Hashemi added. 

Burning flares at the refinery has decreased from 88.19mcm in the same ten months last year to 54.7 this year which is a great contribution to preservation of the environment, he said. 

The complex has also supplied 115 tons of sulfur and 32,000 tons of other products since March.
