Director of production control at NPC told Shana that the rise has been made possible by enhanced natural gas recovery from South Pars phases during the current year.
Iran has inaugurated three more major phases of the supergiant gas field since February 2015.
Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh said the country's output for the next calendar year is expected to rise to 52 million tons, up by 12% year-on-year.
Iranian petrochemical plants processed 34 million tons of petrochemicals during the first 9 months of the current calendar year and provided that they receive sufficient feedstock supplies, the country's output will cross 47 million tons by the year-end, he said.
The official further said the country's petrochemical plants will operate at 81% of their nameplate capacity, up 9% from a year ago.
Iran is planning to launch a number of petrochemical projects before year end on March 20 which will add to the country's total output.
