Speaking to Shana, he said NIOPDC has started distribution of euro-4 gasoline in the city since seven months ago, adding that on average, 752 thousand liters of the product were distributed daily during the period.
He said health of the people, protecting the environment and preventing pollution are the main goals of NIOPDC for distribution of euro-4 gasoline in Tabriz.
He also noted that NIOPDC plans to expand distribution of euro-4 gasoline to a growing number of gas stations around the city.
Earlier managing director of the organization of protecting environment in Eastern Azerbaijan said that distribution of a better quality gasoline has lessened total number of polluted days in the city by a half.
He noted that many people who commute to Tabriz every day from suburban areas and fill their gas tanks there which could result in pollution in Tabriz, therefore distribution of qualified gasoline in suburbs could be helpful for having cleaner air in Tabriz.
