Mohammad-Sadegh Mehrjou, ICOFC’s technical affairs director, said the company plans to boost gas production by more than 1 billion cubic meters per month, or an average of 33 million cubic meters per day, to help offset part of the production capacity lost following damage to the country’s gas processing and production facilities in the South Pars region.
Mehrjou said ICOFC’s gas production reached 188 million cubic meters in Ordibehesht (April-May), up 41 million cubic meters from the same period last year. Production during the first 20 days of Khordad (May-June) exceeded 166 million cubic meters, marking an increase of 40 million cubic meters year on year.
He said part of the additional output will come from developed fields in the southern Zagros region and gas fields in northeastern Iran, helping compensate for shortages caused by attacks during the Third Imposed War.
Mehrjou added that two new gas fields — Tous Phase 2, with an additional 2 million cubic meters per day, and Khartang, with 5 million cubic meters per day — will be brought into ICOFC’s production portfolio this year.
He said the company’s key project for the year is completing the first phase of the Khartang field development, which will raise production from 5 million to 10 million cubic meters per day through the drilling of four new wells.
ICOFC is also moving forward with the commissioning of a pressure-boosting station at the Homa field, aimed at doubling production from the current 7 million cubic meters per day to 14 million cubic meters per day as part of its broader production growth program.
