Zanganeh Meets European Oil Companies Managers

TEHRAN Dec 06 (Shana): On the sidelines of OPEC ministerial meeting in Vienna, Iranian minister of petroleum Bijan Zanganeh met some European oil companies’ managers.

Responding to reporter’s questions in Vienna, Zanganeh said he had met on Thursday with Shell, Eni, Vitol and OMV officials.

On a question pertaining to falling oil production from Iran’s oil fields, Zanganeh said: if we do noting normally oil production will decrease about 300 to 350 thousand barrels each year.

On enhancing recovery rate [from Iran’s oil fields], he noted that the rate of recovery depends on the technology being used.  
 “On enhancing recovery rate, we have given priority to shared oil fields and mega oil fields including Ahwaz, BiBi Hakimeh, Agha Jari, Maroun, Forouzan, Salman and Sirri”, Zanganeh told reporters.

OPEC’s 164th ministerial meeting held in Vienna on Wednesday deciding to keep oil production ceiling steady at 30 million barrels per day. It also extended El-Badri’s tenure as OPEC secretary general for another one year to December 2014.
