TEHRAN Dec 22 (Shana): The ongoing NGL project in Siri Island will come online in next few weeks, an Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) official said.

Speaking to Shana, Siavash Baher, said the project aims at collecting 143 million cubic feet of associated gases per day in Siri Island adding the project starts up by gathering 70 million cubic meters of associated gases per day in the first phase.

The volume of gathering associated gas will go up gradually reaching 100 million cubic meters per day; Baher said adding raising the capacity requires installation of a number of compressors in Nasr oil field as well as onshore installations in Siri Island that is under way.

To reach full capacity, the gas produced at gas layer of Esfand oil field and Kish gas field will transfer to Siri Island, the official said.

In addition to gathering associated gases, NGL plant will produce about 13.650 barrels of gas condensate per day.

Siri Island NGL project is not confined to gathering associated gases and production of gas condensate but plans to reduce emissions, to create jobs, upgrade energy consumption and making revenue.

The NGL factory will also produce 841 tons of propane, 328 tons of butane and 361 barrels of pentane each day.

Siri NGl plant includes an underwater pipeline from Kish Island to Qeshm, Kish Island’s boosting gas pressure station, supplying gas to Kish power plant, building a boosting gas pressure station on Nasr platform and building a NGL plant in Siri Island.  

Siri District is one of the six districts are covered by Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) located in Persian Gulf and comprises Alvand, Sivand, Esfand, Nosrat, Dena and Mobarak oil fields.
