Gas consumption optimization projects advance through contractor partnerships

SHANA (Tehran) — Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said the National Iranian Gas Company is pursuing targeted gas consumption optimization projects in cooperation with contractor companies across multiple provinces.

Speaking in a televised interview Saturday, Mohajerani said the company considers the continuous and systematic implementation of optimization projects a key pillar of the country’s energy consumption management strategy.

She said optimization plans are being implemented in energy-intensive sectors, including agriculture, industry, power plants, poultry farms and greenhouses.

Mohajerani added that the National Iranian Gas Company has so far signed 75 contracts with contractor companies in 29 provinces, a move she said would play an important role in reducing the country’s energy consumption.

Earlier, Saeid Tavakoli, managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company, announced the signing of 75 contracts between provincial gas companies and contractor firms. He said expanding cooperation with such companies is one of the company’s key approaches in implementing gas consumption optimization policies.
