POGC focused on reconstructing damaged SP refineries

SHANA (Tehran) – The chief executive officer of Pars Oil and Gas Company said during a visit to damaged South Pars refineries after the recent war that, given the necessity of restoring the refineries to help the country manage energy resources more efficiently, the company has put the reconstruction process on the agenda with full capacity.

According to Pars Oil and Gas Company, Touraj Dehqani continued his regular visits to the damaged refineries in the Pars South operational area. In a meeting with reconstruction supervisors of two damaged refineries and other senior company officials, he stressed the need to accelerate actions.

He said regular weekly meetings will be held to track reconstruction, improve coordination, address obstacles, and closely monitor activity milestones. Based on the decisions made, reconstruction projects will be followed through in the form of defined work packages.

He also pointed to directives from the oil minister and the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company regarding the importance of speeding up the reconstruction process, and expressed hope that, with the cooperation and support of all relevant stakeholders, activities will proceed at higher speed.

Dehqani emphasized accelerating rubble removal operations and securing work environments to begin the reconstruction process. He said the process of selecting reconstruction contractors for the ongoing reconstruction projects is underway, and, based on past experience and the readiness of engineering and construction documents, the company will move quickly into execution stages and the procurement of equipment.

Regular meetings with contractors for Phase 14 refinery

During his subsequent visit to the Phase 14 refinery in South Pars, Dehqani also reviewed progress in reconstructing the damaged unit of the project. In a meeting with contractors, he underscored the need to accelerate fulfillment of commitments and provide a detailed timeline plan to complete remaining execution activities.

He stated that the oil industry bears a major responsibility for restoring production in refinery reconstruction projects and said it will carry out this critical duty effectively through its skilled and capable human capital.

The visit, attended by project managers, contractors, and execution officials of SP Phase 14, included a review of the latest status of reconstruction and preparation work for the damaged unit of the phase, along with an explanation of the technical measures being implemented to return this section to production as soon as possible.
