The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) statistics show that since beginning of the current Iranian calendar year on 21st March 2011, 833 million barrels of recoverable liquid hydrocarbon and 31.695 billion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas reserves have been found across the country.
Drilling more than 377 thousand meters and repairing 140 oil and gas wells during the first six months of current Iranian year are among the other achievements of NIOC.
Launching desalination factory at Parsi oil field with processing capacity of 110 thousand barrels per day and development a desalination factory at Maroon 3 oil field with the aim of boosting its capacity from 55 thousand barrels per day to 110 thousand barrels per day in order to process salt oil produced in Maroon and Shadegan oil fields are among the other works done by NIOC.
Launching desalination unit of Ab Timour oil field with processing capacity of 60 thousand barrels per day, extraction gas from 6 new wells at South Pars gas field’s phase 10, renewing oil production from 17 idle oil wells in Masjed Soleiman and launching oil storage tank number 38 at Kharg oil terminal were among the other NIOC’s activities during the year.
The company also installed and tested successfully the Middle East’s largest and most sophisticated device to prevent gushing oil in deep waters with participation of Khazar Oil Company and North Drilling Company.
Unveiling of the highest drilling rig of the country, named Fath 35, is another achievement of the NIOC in current year. The rig with 125 feet height is tallest drilling rig in the country and is capable to drill more than six thousand meters.
