Mohsen Paknejad said Wednesday afternoon that measures and contingency plans are in place to counter such actions. Speaking at a public gathering and in an interview with Young Journalists Club, he said US actions related to a potential blockade violate international law and will not achieve their objectives.
Paknejad added that what he described as an American-Israeli adversary has taken the wrong approach in the third imposed war, citing a lack of understanding of Iran’s people and culture. He said a better understanding would have prevented such missteps.
He also emphasized that conservation is a broad social principle encouraged in religious teachings and adopted worldwide. During times of conflict, he said, many countries have had to manage fuel shortages through conservation measures.
Paknejad said there are no concerns about maintaining a stable fuel supply and distribution, adding that government officials — particularly in the Oil Ministry — are working around the clock.
He noted that public participation and the performance of Iran’s armed forces during the conflict drew global attention, and said the Oil Ministry did its part alongside the government.
“We went through difficult days,” he said. “With the help of God and the support of my colleagues in the oil industry, we worked to ensure services were not disrupted. We hope the people are satisfied.”
