TEHRAN -- Sales manager of Iran Khodro Company announced that the company was planning to replace 100,000 dilapidated cars during the next Iranian calendar year 1383 (starting March 20, 2004).
He also asked Management and Planning Organization, Iran Fuel Conservation Organization as well as domestic banks to help speed up the process.
The official noted that using worn-out cars was detrimental to the environment and the national economy, adding, "Damages resulting from use of such cars are much higher than the cost of replacing worn-out vehicles."
