Paknejad, speaking Wednesday while attending the commemoration, congratulated the Iranian people and oil industry employees on the occasion. He said the Islamic Revolution began under the leadership of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, and has continued and flourished under the guidance of the supreme leader.
Referring to what he described as threats facing the country, Paknejad said Iran is confronting pressures from adversaries who, he said, cannot tolerate the nation’s growth and seek to target its resources.
Government efforts to improve livelihoods
The minister said the strong public turnout carries a clear message for those opponents. He added that any belief that military power could intimidate the Iranian people is misguided.
Paknejad thanked participants in the Bahman 22 rally, calling the turnout a reflection of the Iranian nation’s deeply rooted beliefs.
He said government officials have a duty to use all available means to improve living standards and strengthen economic conditions, adding that the issue remains a priority for authorities.
Relying on domestic expertise
Responding to reporters’ questions about the impact of sanctions on the oil industry, Paknejad said Iran would rely on the capabilities, knowledge and determination of domestic specialists to implement the necessary mechanisms to ensure the sector continues to operate without disruption.
He said Wednesday’s turnout delivered a firm message to those who, he said, believe threats and shows of force could instill fear among Iranians.
