"We had earlier predicted that LNG consumption would decline for ten coming years," Mohammad Karimi, Managing-Director of Iran Gas, told PIN. "Iran Gas Company distributed 535,000 tons of LNG last year," he said and put the growth rate at one percent. He said the younger generation and growing number of families were behind the rise in LNG consumption. "Iran Gas distributes 50,000 tons of LNG per month," Karimi said.
